Best of Beauty 2018: Briogeo Rosarco Milk

We’ve made it to the end of my 31-day Best of Beauty 2018 countdown. I’ve saved my favorite product for last. It’s an actual miracle worker.

Of all of the beauty products I loved in 2018, there is one that actually performs miracles: the Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-in Conditioning Spray.

My hair is both a gift and a curse. It is ultra thick (so thick that my scalp won’t dry for days if I don’t part my hair when air drying), highly porous, dry, and a random mix of curls and tight coils (with a few random straight strands strewn throughout). Because it is so porous, it gets dry insanely easily.

There really aren’t too many products that can hydrate my hair, and keep it feeling soft and moist (not greasy or oily) for more than a few hours after it is washed. The Briogeo Rosarco Milk spray is on the short list… aka is the entire list. Whether damp or dry, this leave-in conditioner imparts a moisture that penetrates my strands and keeps them feeling soft and hydrated way longer than any other product I’ve ever tried. Like, insanely soft.

My hair never feels soft, even fresh out of the shower. It’s like water just goes right through the hair shaft without touching it. Once I spray the Rosarco Milk, it immediately gets soaked up and seals itself in. It leaves my hair feeling good, looking shiny and smelling heavenly.

My only qualm about this product is how fast I go through it, but honestly, I don’t think it can be helped because of the amount of hair I have. I’ve already repurchased it twice this year, and am down to the last few drops. As soon as I’m out, I will be reordering it. I don’t think I will ever bother trying to find something else to replace it in my haircare routine because it’s really just that good.

What are your favorite hair products? Any miracle workers?

Well guys, we made it to the end of my 31-day Best of Beauty products! I sincerely thank you for sticking with me to the end. Of all the products I mentioned, were there any that you’ve put on your list to try in 2019? I’d love to know!

Best of Beauty 2018: CoverFx Perfect Pressed Powder

As the final makeup product in my Best of Beauty 2018 product, this one really stands out to me. It was my most used product of all of them, this entire year. It’s one I think every makeup wearer should keep in their purse.

One essential product that I think every Makeup wearer needs is a good pressed powder to blot oil or touch up throughout the day. The CoverFx Perfect Pressed Powder is my all-time favorite for this.

This powder, though pressed, is ultra fine and has a soft, silky texture that perfectly smooths and mattifies the skin. Even more than the Hourglass Veil, I can always count on it to never be cakey or chalky. Using the included velour puff (or even a small face brush) the powder just goes on evenly and melts into the skin, which is perfect for mid-afternoon touchups on the go.

As the final makeup product in my Best of Beauty 2018 product, this one really stands out to me. It was my most used product of all of them, this entire year.

What was you most used makeup product of 2018?

Best of Beauty 2018: Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Lipgloss in Beso

Less than seven days left of my 31-day countdown of my favorite cruelty-free beauty products in 2018. Today’s spot goes to a lipgloss that acts more like a lipstick.

2018 was the year of the glow for me. Contrary to the “everything matte” movement of 2017, I wanted my entire face to look healthy and dewy, including my lips. So, I found myself leaning heavily towards lipgloss year-round as my go-to lip product of choice.

Since I already mentioned one lipgloss in the Best of Beauty list, you may be asking: “Why do you have two HG lipglosses? They are lipgloss. How?” If you’ve ever tried to go into an Ulta or Sephora to ask for lipgloss, you know that you can get anything from crystal clear, to metallic gold, to iridescent blue, to solidly opaque red with plumping technology… and everything in between.

The Buxom gloss that I mentioned early on this month is a sheer rose color that slightly plumps the lips. On the other hand, the Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine in the shade Beso is a way more opaque gloss whose pigment is comparable to some of my traditional bullet lipsticks, but with tons of shine.

For most of my makeup looks and daily activities, the mauve shade of this gloss is perfect for most occasions. It’s not too bright, but not quite a nude either. I keep it in my purse as my go to if I forgot my lipstick, or if I just don’t feel like trying to decide on a color. Additionally, the wear time on this gloss is pretty good. I can definitely have it on for a few hours before having to reapply it.

What were your favorite lip glosses in 2018? Do you prefer sheer or more opaque colors?

Best of Beauty 2018: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Vanilla Quartz

2018 was the year of great beauty discoveries for me. So instead of just doing the top 18 of 2018, I’m using the entire month of December to give you the deets on all of my favorite cruelty-free beauty products that I picked up this year. From makeup to personal care, I’ve got you! One product for each day. Today’s product gives the ultimate dewy highlight and is perfect for mid-toned complexions… not too gold and not too icy✨

2018 was the year I really got into highlighters. Of all of the single highlighters that I’ve tried, the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Vanilla Quartz has been the most natural, wet-looking highlighter (on my complexion) that I have found.

I got this highlighter as a part of the Mini Macaroons set that Becca offered this holiday season. While I enjoy the other shades, this is the one I consistently reach for. It is the perfect champagne color that looks completely natural on my skin (Opal is a bit too gold, and the other colors are rose and purple shades).

Besides the color, the texture of this highlighter is amazing. It blends gorgeously into the skin without emphasizing texture, and gives it a dewy, wet shines that makes my face look radiant and not at all metallic.

I will definitely be purchasing the full-size of this highlighter once I inevitably finish up this mini size.

What is your go-to highlighter?

Best of Beauty 2018: Pretty Vulgar The Ink Gel Eyeliner

In the ten plus years that I have been wearing eyeliner, I’ve tried dozens of them. This one really stands out.

Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄

Eyeliner is something dear to my heart. Before I knew how to shape my brows or began looking for the right foundation shade, I was wearing black eyeliner. For years, if I did nothing else, I was wearing eyeliner. I got so good at it that I would apply winged eyeliner on the train on my way to school (to the shock and concern of my fellow passengers… no one wants to watch a kid stab themselves in the eye on their way to work).

So, when I say an eyeliner has made my HG list, it really must be amazing because I’ve tried dozens of them. The Pretty Vulgar The Ink Gel Eyeliner in Black List, is a Holy Grail for me.

The Ink is a potted gel formula in an inkwell pot (that looks super cute on my desk btw). The gel is an ultra-black gel cream with a super smooth, easy to apply consistency. Once it quickly dries down, this liner does not budge. I know that even if the rest of my face melts off, my wings will stay in tact all day. (I will caution that it will transfer if you rub your eyes, but I don’t often do that.)

If you are looking for a good gel liner, that you apply with a brush, this is a really good one. With so much product in the pot, it will last you quite a while as well.

What is your favorite way to apply eyeliner- Pencil, liquid, gel? Let’s chat!

Best of Beauty 2018: ColourPop Brow Kit

This kit has replaced all other brow products in my collection, both high-end and drugstore.

Fall 2018 has brought me a treasure trove of amazing products. Yesterday’s See-Quins shadows, the Cover Girl BB cream and Vitalist foundation, Tarte Maracuja Oil…. all products that I’ve only had for a few months, but have fallen in love with. Today’s product is no different. I got the ColourPop Best in Brows Brow Kit less than two months ago, and it has quickly replaced every other brow product in my collection.

I purchased this kit back in November in my ColourPop Haul. It contains four full-sized Brow products in the shade of your choice for $20:

  • Brow Boss Gel
  • Brow Boss Pencil
  • Precision Brow Pencil
  • Precision Brow Colour

I have tried all every one of the products, and I think all of them stand up to both their drugstore and high-end competitors. For less than the price of an ABH Brow Wiz you can have the micro-tipped Precision Brow Pencil plus 3 other products to help complete the look.

My favorite of all of the items in Best in Brows is the Precision Brow Colour. Previously, I wasn’t sure what I was going to use once I finally finished up my Benefit Cosmetics ka-Brow, but I’ve already cast it aside for this. I’ve never done my brows faster than when I use this product; plus, it’s budge proof and waterproof. So, my brows look just as good at the end of the night as they did first thing in the morning.

Besides all of the products being great, the value of this Brow Kit is phenomenal. For $20 you can have enough products to keep your brows sculpted for at least half of the year. Definitely will repurchase this once I eventually run out.

What kind of products do you use to do your brows? Let’s chat!
