ColourPop x Disney Part 2

ColourPop is bringing us a round two collaboration with Disney; this time they’re focusing on the villains.

I am excited about this palette. I really like Disney and just seeing all of the characters on the sneak peep made me feel nostalgic. As much as I really like the ColourPop Pressed shadow formula, I honestly plan on buying this for the theme.

What was your favorite Disney movie? Would you buy anything from this collab (so far we’ve only seen the palette) just because of the theme?

Let’s chat!

Morning Makeup Musings #83

A gorgeous new Spring collection from ColourPop is coming soon.

ColourPop is gearing up to release a full collection perfect for spring.

First of all, I love that ColourPop is choosing not to ignore spring like many other brands are doing. So far we’ve seen a lot of summer-themed releases. So it’s refreshing to see a brand not just shoot past the next three months.

Honestly, I like everything about this collection. The palette is pretty and everyday wearable, with gorgeous jelly shadows in perfectly complementary pastels. The lipsticks are really pretty, and the blushes are colorful and bright.

If I were to make any purchase from this, I’d probably pick up everything except for the blushes. Not because I don’t like them, but I’m just not interested in the Super Shock formula for a blush.

What do you guys think about this collection? Are you happy for a more toned down spring theme, or are the summer vibes helping you pull through the cold of these last weeks of winter? Let’s chat!

ColourPop is really churning out the new products these days. They’ve announced another one to be released this week, perfect for spring.

ColourPop is really the brand that just won’t stop. @trendmood1 has just given a sneak peek of their newest product- a plumping lip gloss.

Judging by the photo, even though it’s black and white, the gloss will come in at least seven shades. There is no word on price yet, but The brand is always affordable so I’m guessing it’ll be around the $10-15 mark. This new gloss line will be available on ColourPop’s website on February 22nd at 10am PST.

Personally, I know I can pass on this one. While the Buxom glosses are my favorite, I can do without the plumping effect of even those. So, I definitely won’t be buying a gloss just for the plumping (since CP already has glosses available).

I do think it’s a smart release for the spring though? What do you guys think? Would you give them a try for some juicy springtime lips? Let’s chat!

ColourPop | Haul Follow-up Reviews

Full face of ColourPop products reviewed.

Hello, hello!

I am finally back with the update to my ColourPop haul! I have finally given all of the products enough of a test to know my full thoughts… (Make sure to check out swatches down below after the reviews).

No Filter concealer in Dark 42

fullsizeoutput_2e0e

This is a decent concealer. If you want a hydrating formula, this isn’t it. It is pretty matte, but I still felt like I always needed to set it with a light powder. I don’t think there is anything really wrong with it unless you have dry undereyes, but I would not repurchase it. I found myself just wanting to use it to get it out of my collection,

No Filter Foundation Stix in Dark 175W

fullsizeoutput_2e09

Here’s the bad news: I really, really, REALLY hate this as a foundation. I tried it several ways– different application techniques, primers, etc. In every instance it felt heavy and greasy all over my face. The good news? It works GREAT as a cream bronzer. The color ended up being a shade too dark, and the undertone too red for me so it worked in this way (🙏🏽). I wouldn’t recommend it as a foundation, but if you want an affordable cream bronzer, this is it. I may actually repurchase it for that use specifically. Surprise surprise.

Best in Brow Kit in Dark Brown |includes Precision Brow Pencil, Brow Boss Pencil, Precision Brow Colour & Brow Boss Gel(not pictured)

fullsizeoutput_2e0c

This kit was mentioned in my Best of Beauty 2018 countdown, so it’s no surprise that I love it (unless you’re new here- welcome!!). The products all work really well, and the price is really good. Moving forward, since the cream Colour is going to way outlast the other products, I will probably only re-purchase the Precision pencil because it is less fuss when I travel or to just throw in my bag.

Crème Gel liner in DTLA

fullsizeoutput_2e0d

At first, I loved this liner. It was creamy. The payoff was great. It stayed all day. And best of all, no sharpener required. The downside to this product (like many other ColourPop products) is that is dried out super quickly. Once that happened, it would tug and pull on the lid (and subsequently break) and the payoff wasn’t that great on top of shadow. I thought I had found my new favorite navy liner (aka favorite period), but alas…. the search continues…

Jelly Much Shadow in Sweet Dreams

fullsizeoutput_2e0a

This is another item that dried out super quickly (and yes, the lid was screwed on tightly). I only used it a few times before it got too dry and clumpy. Before that, it was a gorgeous cream, glitter option that mimicked the look of the Stila glitter shadows, and was easier to apply (less fallout) than my Marc Jacobs cream. Ah well…. I think they would be a good option for festival season since they are affordable and perform well when fresh. However, only buy them if you don’t plan on using them months later once they are open.

Crème Lux Lipstick in Cinnamon

fullsizeoutput_2e16

This lipstick really surprised me. Initially, I really did not like it. It felt dry and was rough to apply. After one or two uses, the formula seemed to get creamier. It started to glide onto the lips like a satin-finish lipstick, but would then dry down to an almost budge-proof matte. It did not quite have the staying power of a liquid lipstick, but it was insanely more comfortable, and wore down more evenly. Two thumbs up.

Well, there you have it folks. Of almost a full face of ColourPop, it was basically a 50/50 split on products I liked versus the disappointments. What are your favorite ColourPop products? Let’s chat in the comments below.

ColourPop has got something fun for the eyes.

ColourPop has released colored mascaras!

The new ColourPop mascaras are $8 each, and are available in seven shades:

  • Red
  • Blue
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Purple
  • Pink
  • Black

In terms of the formula, they are not waterproof. So they’ll be easy to remove…which I think is ideal because you don’t want to be struggling to remove green mascara.

These colourful mascaras were just released on Thursday, and the red has already sold out! So, if you wanted that color, you have to buy the PR set which is available for $56.

I may try one of these the next time I place a ColourPop order. However, I can’t see that happening for a while…Who knows though? They way CP releases products, they may launch something I really want by next Friday. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Are you guys interested in the ColourPop mascara? Would you get black or a colorful shade?

ColourPop’s Mystery Bag is now available.

ColourPop has announced a new item for sale on their website- the Mystery Bag.

fullsizeoutput_2dd6.jpeg

On the ColourPop website, you can now purchase a bag of assorted ColourPop items worth $55 for only $25. Mystery bags are super popular right now. Jeffree Star Cosmetics had (may still have) some. I believe the Beautylish Lucky bag is about to go on sale. People even buy random mystery boxes on Amazon. Is this something I need to try?

Honestly, I’m completely torn on this. Part of me is super curious, but I also don’t necessarily have anything from ColourPop that I really truly want right now except for the Velvet Lux lipsticks… I think for now, I’m going to say that I’ll pass on this. There’s so much makeup that I definitely want to try, that I don’t really need to spend $25 on surprise items from a brand that I’ve tried most of the things that they make.

What about you guys? Is this ColourPop Mystery Bag intriguing to you? Will you take the jump?

Morning Makeup Musings #53

ColourPop is back with another lipstick formula, and it is exactly what I have been waiting for.

You guys, ColourPop really understands my aesthetic. Their new Lux Velvet Blur Lipsticks are basically what I wish most of my currently lip products were.

fullsizeoutput_2d93

According to the ColourPop website, this new formula is said to be a matte finish with “soft blurring pigments [that deliver] a soft focus, blurred effect with a velvet sot texture.” These are supposed to give your lips a soft, blotted look but with a matte finish and a bit more color payoff.

I LOVE blotted lips. It is 100% my preference. I am definitely going to grab a few of these in February. There are 16 shades currently available, and all except for one of them are colors that I’d like to add to my collection. They are $7 each, and you can currently buy the entire collection on ColourPop’s website for $100. I thought about getting the vault, but since I’m on a low-buy I’m going to have to figure out which ones I absolutely must have.

What do you guys think? Which of these shades really speak to you? What’s you favorite CP lip product?
