Morning Makeup Musings #64

Anastasia Beverly Hills is jumping on the mini palette trend this spring

Anastasia Beverly Hills is the newest brand to announce mini eyeshadow palettes.

For their Spring launch, ABH will be releasing two “palettes” and four liquid lipsticks. Although these are really just curated single shadow quads, I am here for them.

For $32 each, I don’t think these are a bad deal. $8 per shadow including the packaging (which you can use with other single shadows) isn’t terrible. If I got either, I think I’d do the cool-toned option with the blue and green shadows, but I’m not sure because that coral-gold duochrome is also catching my attention.

What do you guys think? Is $32 for a quad outrageous? Would you rather just get an entire ABH palette for a $10 more? Let’s chat!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance| Swatch Stories #5

A different palette every month. A new color combo every week. This is the final story for the ABH Modern Renaissance palette

As a true makeup junkie, it is very easy to neglect makeup that I already own in favor of what’s new. This year, to make sure I use what I have and discover new ways to use old favorites, I have decided to start a new series: Swatch Stories. Using one palette per month, I will do weekly posts of a different color combination. This idea is inspired by the color combinations posted on Instagram by @temptalia.

Here is the final Swatch Story for the Modern Renaissance palette:

To kick off the series I wanted to use a palette I have completely changed my mind about.  As mentioned in my Don’t Fall into the Trap post, I seriously regretted buying the ABH Modern Renaissance palette. However, towards the end of 2018, I decided to give it another shot. I’m so glad I did, because this palette has become my everyday go-to choice.

The first combination I am featuring is my usual look that I do when I don’t want to have to think about it.

Weekly Makeup Inspiration #4

9/23-9/29

Hi guys! Happy Friday!

For the first full week of fall, I was feeling very vampy, and full embracing the deep red-toned lip. I was also excited to pull similar tones for my eyes from the Modern Renaissance palette, which ended up being more of a favorite than I expected.

Another unexpected favorite was the Chocolate Gold palette. I was really excited about it when I first bought it last winter, but the enthusiasm quickly faded. The formula is a dream, but I wasn’t inspired. I was happy to find some inspiration this week with it.

One thing that I’m realizing week after week is that I barely touch the lip products. I used maybe one of these items all week. The other days I just used products I already had in my purse or was testing out. So, I decided to remove my go-to purse products for this coming week to see if I use what I pulled out more. If I am still finding that I neglect my options for the week, I may have to do a serious lippie declutter.

What makeup in your collection has been inspiring you this week?
