Best of Beauty 2018: Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream

2018 was the year of great beauty discoveries for me. So instead of just doing the top 18 of 2018, I’m using the entire month of December to give you the deets on all of my favorite cruelty-free beauty products that I picked up this year. From makeup to personal care, I’ve got you! One product for each day

Welcome (or welcome back) to my Best of Beauty MONTH-LONG countdown! Every day of this month, I will be doing reviews on 31 of my favorite beauty products that I tried in 2018.

For the next few days, I will be talking about my favorite skincare products. I am starting with my favorite moisturizer for the colder weather, or when my skin is really going through it and needs some extra love– The Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream.

I mentioned this cream as a product recommendation not too long ago in my Top 5 Cold Weather Beauty Essentials post. As I mentioned then, during the warmer months, this was too heavy for my combo/oily skin during the day. However, once my skin started to dry out in the cold winds of autumn in the Northeastern US, I started using this both day and night.

Why do I love this?

There are several things that I love about this product, some of which are common to all Drunk Elephant skincare items. It is made of all clean ingredients. The packaging products the product from light (which can disturb formulations) and bacteria; you don’t have to dip your fingers into any jars. Also, not only is the brand cruelty-free, but they also actively support the International Elephant Foundation. So, this is skincare you can feel good about both for your face and the world.

The most important thing that I love about this formula is what it does for my skin. After adding this to my skincare routine, my skin was noticeably more hydrated and dewy. During the summer, I’d put this on before bed under my night oil, and I’d wake up to my skin being actually luminous. Especially now when my dry patches are expanding, this cream is a much needed, heavy shot of moisture without being greasy. Along with my other products, the texture has been improving and my skin tone has been getting more even overall.

Despite the higher price tag, I really feel like this is one skincare product that my routine just cannot go without for more than a few days. Do you guys have any face creams that you just refuse to give up? Let me know in the comments.

Let’s chat!
