Welcome (or welcome back) to my Best of Beauty MONTH-LONG countdown! Every day of this month, I will be doing reviews on 31 of my favorite beauty products that I tried in 2018.
As you can tell by the title, todays product is the Nest Black Tulip Rollerball Perfume. This product does also come in a larger 1.7oz traditional spray perfume bottle, but this best of nod goes specifically to the rollerball bottle. I’ll explain why in a second.
It is hard to find really good cruelty-free perfumes. First, let’s talk about the fragrance. This scent is described by the brand as being provocative, seductive and alluring with key notes of Black Amber Plum, Pink Pepper and Japanese Violet. I would describe it as being dark and sexy, slightly sweet and fruity, but in the most adult non-sugary way possible.
I LOVE this perfume. It smells incredible and the scent lasts a LONG time once you apply it. It’s a scent that will definitely be noticed, but is also not overwhelming. As a person who tends to NOT prefer florals or sweet smelling fragrances (my only other perfume is Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt), this one gets it right for me.
Another thing I love about this product is the rollerball applicator. It makes it super convenient to keep in my purse at all times. When my JM fragrance wears off, I can pop this on. And when I’m traveling, it’s the perfect size to slip in an overnight bag or to get through airport security in a carry-on (but please don’t wear perfume on planes- you never know who is sensitive to scents in that enclosed space).
The final thing I love about this product, and all Nest perfumes is the artwork. All of the perfumes’ art designs are based on the Paper Mosaicks by Mary Delaney, a 18th century British artist. I think these botanical designs are absolutely gorgeous and really capture the feel of the scents.
What are your favorite fragrances? Do you like rollerball applicators or traditional sprays only? Let’s chat!
