The Unpopular Opinion… CoverFx Power Play Foundation

Hi guys!

I’ve been seeing this tag go around on YouTube recently and I thought it was really interesting. So many times I have seen a bunch of videos, read all the blog posts, even read the product reviews on sellers’ websites, and I still end up being like- What were they all talking about?!?

*le sigh*

Unfortunately, a similar thing happened with the CoverFx Power Play Foundation.

I will say that I grabbed this as soon as it came out because the description sounded like exactly what I was looking for and CoverFx has my exact shade (G80). So, I didn’t get a chance to see or read many reviews on it. That being said, all the reviews that I watched after the fact all loved this product anyway so 🤷🏾‍♀️.

After several months with this foundation in my collection, I have to finally acknowledge that I just have the unpopular opinion: I do not like this foundation. I dislike it so much, that I don’t even like wearing it on days when I’m at home playing in eyeshadow and just want to finish off the look with some base makeup.

*again, le sigh*

This is where I’d insert the Tyra Banks “I was rooting for you” gif. I really was hoping to love this product. But alas… The problem for me is that it sits on top of my skin instead of sinking in, and looks instantly cakey without me even putting any powder over it.

So, there it is. My unpopular opinion on what was one of the most raved about foundations of the summer. If you want to try a great Cover Fx product, check out their Perfect Pressed Setting Powder. It’s the one powder I ALWAYS keep in my bag for touch ups. I use the shade- Medium.

Do you have any unpopular opinions on products? Let’s chat.

Thanks for stopping by!
